Renew, Reversing the Aging Process

"The LORD does not look at the things people look at. People look at the outward appearance, but the LORD looks at the heart.” 1 Samuel 16:7 NIV

As we get older, our physical bodies are falling apart. It's inevitable, it's the depreciation of nature because of the fall. We find in Proverbs 31,

Charm is deceptive and beauty is fleeting, but a woman who fears the LORD, is to be praised. Proverbs 31:30

Imagine with me for a minute, something that would begin to transform us, each day. A powerful, restoring, and renewing formula that would reverse the aging process. By the sheer number of television commercials advertising for products claiming to do just that, I'm thinking this really is most women's dream. To find something that would not only keep us looking young, but feeling young also.

You need not look much farther than your own living room for this. Or if you're like me, most rooms in your house. God's Word is alive and active, sharper than any double-edged, ready to penetrate even to dividing soul and spirit, joints and marrow---Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Hebrews 4:12, Romans 12:2

Let the time spent in God`s Word penetrate your soul and spirit, changing you and renewing you. You can reverse the aging process on your soul. We have been promised eternal life with Him, and He is in the business of cleansing us and molding us into the likeness of Christ each and every day if we are willing.

We don`t have to let the worries of this life age us:
Can any of you by worrying add a single hour to your life? Matthew 6:27
Do not let bitterness steal the joy from your soul:
A cheerful heart is good medicine, but a crushed spirit dries up the bones. Proverbs 17:22
Living in discontent? Pining for something different?
A heart at peace gives life to the body, but envy rots the bones. Proverbs 14:30
Consider the true source of renewable energy and strength, and how He promises us:
But those who hope in the LORD will renew their strength. They will soar on wings like eagles; they will run and not grow weary, they will walk and not be faint. Isaiah 40:31

That`s grace! Because even when we DO allow the things in this life to keep us from even getting out of bed, or eating the entire chocolate cake ourselves, or just hysterically crying out of our own selfish frustrations,  He is still loving us, inviting us, gracing us with the promises of deliverance and courage. This life is a mere breath. Before long, as His beloved children, we WILL be soaring on eagle's wings and experience the ultimate restoration ever known to creation.

  1. I heard Beth Moore say once that Gods word is a beauty treatment. I believe it! And you are beautiful, lady! Merry Adventing.
