This week found us doing many different things around the house - especially in the kitchen.

My sourdough starter is alive and thriving, so we have enjoyed 2 amazing loaves this week, plus pancakes, plus a sourdough skillet, and even sourdough pizza crust. Yum.

A few years back, I was really into lacto-ferments. Cruising YouTube videos inspired me to get back into it. I went ahead and started some new batches of lacto-ferment vegetables, cucumbers, carrots, and cabbage.

As well, we have been making milk kefir smoothies each morning this week, with super yummy eggs. It's been so nice! We used to do this all of the time but kind of got out of the routine. I'm glad it returned. :)

The boys have spent so many hours playing Lego this week as well as playing light-sabers and water guns outside. We've seen friends, and just been hanging out at home a lot over this short "Fall" school break. This 6-7 weeks on, and 1-2 weeks off is amazing. This school schedule totally works for us, when we're not on Furlough. The breaks seem to come just when we need them. And the breaks are long enough that everyone is ready to get back at it afterwards. Energizing.

That's what a break is supposed to do for you right?
