On the Coffee Table - Current Open Books

As school has come to a close for this school year in our home, there aren't as many open books on the coffee table anymore. However, I am still reading some great ones right now, and my list continues to grow with books I hope to read someday.

My husband are reading through this Radical. Which exciting, because we have never actually read a book simultaneously before, and I have really enjoyed how it has sparked some interesting conversation and opportunities to encourage each other.

(From the back cover) It's easy for American Christians to forget how Jesus said his followers would actually live, what their new lifestyle would actually look like. They would, he said, leave behind security, money, convenience, even family for him. They would abandon everything for teh gospel. They would take up their crosses daily...

In "Radical", David Platt challenges you to consider with an open heart how we have manipulated the gospel to fit our cultural preferences. He shows what Jesus actually said about being his disciple--then invites you to believe and obey what you have heard.

The current Good Morning Girls study is focusing on this book, and of course a selection of Scripture over the next 8 weeks.
The Covenant is a novel I'm reading about the amish community, just because I like a good story about this unique people group.

What are you currently reading?
