Grace for the First Day of School

I think mom was more excited than daughter to begin Grade 1 this year! However Faith was pretty anxious to begin also.

It was an exciting day, filled with time spent poring over brand new books.

There is a new sense of motivation felt by many moms on the first day of their homeschool. Time spent planning, and gathering is now coming to fruition! Our first day began on my knees, pleading with God for an extra "lavishing" of His grace. That He would give me the discernment to know when to push and persist, and when to hold back and let... that He would supply me with the wisdom to graciously manage the three younger siblings underfoot, who would likely be competing for mommy's attention.

It was indeed a day of grace. Thank you Jesus.

As many moms embark on this incredibly huge and important journey of homeschooling, my prayer is that you, also, would be lavished with grace, recognize what you have received, and be ready to extend it to your own sheep.

We urge you, brothers [mothers], warn those who are idle, encourage the timid, help the weak, be patient with everyone [your children]. Make sure that nobody pays back wrong for wrong, but always try to be kind to each other and to everyone else.
Be joyful always, pray continually; give thanks in all circumstances, for this is God's will for you in Christ Jesus.- 1 Thess. 5:14-18 NIV
